Central United Church offers two worship services on Sunday mornings:  9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.  with Sunday School programmes available during the early service.

We welcome children of all ages to worship with us.  We have a very exciting programme planned for the upcoming year.  Sunday School classes are available for children, aged 2 ½ and up, following Children’s Time in the 9:30 worship service.  Younger children are welcome to remain with their parents during the service, or families may use the unstaffed nursery (toy room) found on the main floor, which includes audio for hearing the service.  A change table is also available (in the washroom).

Thursday, January 12th to February 16th, 2012 Rev. Karl Burden will host a weekly Bible Study of the Old Testament at 10:00 a.m. or 7:30 p.m.  No prior study experience necessray - come when you can.  Sessions will cover the book of Exodus, the Covenant and other topics from the Old Testament writings of the Holy Bible.  All are welcome to participate!

Friday Morning Men's Group begins with coffee at 6:45 a.m. and runs until 8 a.m.  This six week session, beginning January 20th, is called “When the game is over, it all goes back in the box” by John Ortberg.  He says that if you think you might need a better game plan – one that offers an eternal perspective, then come join us.  Learn and grow with an entertaining and thought provoking video series.  All men of the community are welcome.

Annual General Meeting on Friday, January 27th  Please join us for a congregational pot luck dinner at 6:00 p.m. at the church followed by the business meeting at 7:30 p.m.  Enjoy some food and fellowship and then help celebrate our accomplsihments for the past year as well as making plans for 2012!

Central United goes Pond Skating.  Please join us for fun and fellowship at the Markham Civic Centre (Hwy 7 and Warden) on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4TH from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.  All are welcome to come out and kick off February with friends from Central.  Bring your skates and join us for skating so you can tell your family and friends that you skated on the largest outdoor rink in the GTA (bet you didn’t know that), or you can just come out and watch from the warmth of the cafeteria.  Bring a friend or two or three.  Let’s get together for some winter fun!  (Parking is at the northern end of the Markham Civic Centre parking lot accessed from Town Centre Boulevard.  Proceed down the stairs between the Markham Theatre and the Civic Centre building where you will find the change area.)
