SUMMER SERMON SERIES: LETTERS OF PAUL - GALATIANS & COLOSSIANS...The Apostle Paul’s skilfully crafted letters were an extension of his pastoral ministry for the churches he founded on his missionary journeys. Our worship this summer will take us through two of these letters—letters through which Christ is pastoring His church today. The schedule includes: July 11 Galatians 5:2-15 July 18 Galatians 5:16-22 July 25 Galatians 6:1-18 Aug. 8 Colossians 1:1-14
FOR SUNDAY, JULY 11TH...We welcome Rev. Dr. Stephen Williamson from Northern Ireland as our guest speaker. We will also celebrate the Sacrament of Communion that day (and again on August 8th).
SHARED SERVICES...On SUNDAY, JULY 25TH we will welcome our neighbours from Bethesda Lutheran Church who will join us for worship at Central. Then on AUGUST 1st, we will worship at Bethesda Lutheran Church (20 Union Street) at 10:30 a.m. (There will be no service at Central that day.)
FROM THE “OVER 80 BOARD”...Congratulations to Ken Stephenson, Cliff Labbett, Bill Collett and Jim Hodge, all who are celebrating birthdays this summer!
ONGOING LOCAL OUTREACH PROJECTS...Help us buy “bed kits” for “Sleeping Children Around the World” to deliver to needy children in developing countries! This charity uses 100% of all donations to purchase items necessary for a good night’s sleep, better health and hygiene, and materials needed to attend school. Go to www.scaw.org or ask Sally Sandiford (a SCAW volunteer) for more information. Although each bed kit costs $35, donations of any amount can be made using your offering envelope (designating the “other” category “SCAW”). We also gladly accept your loose change in our “penny pail” (found in the narthex, along with some bed kit pictures and information leaflets). Can we fill the pail before the end of summer?
GLASSES FOR GHANA...The Ghana Health Team will be going on its fourth annual medical mission to northern Ghana in late October. If you have any used eyeglasses you wish to donate, please place them in the basket found in the Outreach cupboard by the front doors before September 9th. Thank you!
OUR NEXT NEWSLETTER...will be published in mid August and we ask that you submit all articles and announcements to Sally (
